Old SQL and New Hardware X All New

I'm trying to upgrade my software and hardware from:
-SQL Server 2008
-Dell PowerEdge 2900(Xeon E5310 / 6GB DDR2 / SAS 15k No raid)
-SQL Server 2014
-Dell PowerEdge R530(Xeon E52620 / 16GB DDR4 / SM863 SSD x 3 raid 5)

I'm having a hard time trying to sell the idea of upgrading the SQL(the license + Cal's is more than 50% of the total cost)

My question is:
Will I lose considerable performance from running the old 2008 SQL on the new machine?
If I do lose much performance, is there any data from real tests to backup this information?

Thanks in advance!

I don't think there's any way to prove this other than simulating the new environment and running your workload against it. I could have run a similar test yesterday but because my schema and indexes and data access patterns might be totally different, that wouldn't prove very much for you.
